The current ministry team met this week and updated our milestones list. The team is doing quite well on the milestones. In our discussions with 4C, we are right on track to be able to open by June of this year. However, the next hurdle is a big one. On March 22, during Sunday morning services, we will be conducting a survey. The future of the Child Development Center will greatly hinge upon the results of this survey. We feel that we need strong support from the church family in order to make this ministry a reality.
Other good news: I have had personal conversations with a few families about the Preschool portion of the center. We already have several families committed to sending their children to prepare for Kindergarten, get social interaction, and hear Biblical truths beginning August of '09.
Additionally, we have added a few new members to our ministry team. Please continue to pray for these dedicated individuals as they help determine policy and programs for this ministry.
Remember, if you have questions, please call Jared at 635-9995, or post here (it e-mails me directly), or e-mail me at jared@plumcreek.org.
And don't forget about the survey on March 22. There will be an information table set up in the gathering area, as well.

The Ministry Explained
In general, here are a few thoughts about the Day Care Ministry (we are still looking for a name).
The Plum Creek Child Development Center will help families by providing the highest quality daily care to children in an asset rich, Christian environment.
Here are the options we are investigating: The CDC is a multi-function ministry. It includes a 1) Day Care (daily care for infants – five years), 2) Preschool (two or three days per week, for ages three – five, to prepare for school), 3) School-age afterschool care, and 4) School-age summer camp.
If you have questions or comments, please feel free to post!
Currently, the ministry team is working on milestones to become licensed. We will post as new milestones are met.

Plum Creek Child Development Center
A note from the Children’s Ministry Team:
For the past several months, Children Ministry Team members have been investigating the feasibility of opening a Day Care Center & Preschool Ministry at Plum Creek. Recently, the elders have granted permission to ramp up this investigation. In the coming months, we will be making a final decision as to the benefit of this type of ministry.
If God continues to open doors, we plan to move forward and possibly open for limited service in June of this year – and have a full launch of the ministry in August.
Currently, we are forming a new ministry team that will oversee the preparations for this new ministry. This team will make decisions for the Day Care/Preschool Ministry, accomplish tasks and milestones to ensure a successful launch of the ministry, and assist with recruiting ministry participants.
